There are two main categories of submissions for KKIO: (a) conference presentations, which include an extended abstract, and (b) conference presentations with a publication, including the text of a manuscript. They are presented in detail below:
Conference presentation proposals
For those who want just to present their research or industry experience to the community and discuss it with other researchers.
A presentation proposal should include an extended abstract (500-600 words). The abstract should comprehensively explain the presented topic so that reviewers could make the evaluation based on it. Submissions will be evaluated by two or three PC members, with respect to their novelty, originality, and results. We allow presenting already published research.
There are two tracks in the conference: Research and Industry, and the authors of the proposals should indicate one of them in their submissions.
Accepted proposals will be presented by the authors during the conference.
Deadline for submissions: June 1st, 2022.
Research paper proposals
For those wishing not only to present and discuss their work during the conference but also to publish it in a journal.
A research paper proposal includes two elements: a conference presentation and publication of the paper. Both elements will be evaluated separately by the PC: if the paper is not accepted for publishing, then it still can be eligible for presentation at the conference, but the proposal needs to be accepted as a conference presentation to be considered for publication. The manuscript can be also submitted later than the presentation proposal.
Journal submissions shall include original, previously unpublished research in the form of an extended abstract (for conference presentation) and a manuscript.
1) Conference presentation. The authors first submit an extended abstract (see the Conference presentation proposal above).
Deadline for abstract submissions: June 1st, 2022.
2) Manuscript submission. In the second step, the authors may submit a manuscript that will undergo a regular reviewing process that involves at least two reviewers. Accepted papers will be published in a special issue (Open Access) of the Foundations of Computing and Decision Sciences journal (expected to appear in late Autumn). Submissions must be written in English and must not exceed 16 pages for the main body and up to 2 additional pages for the references.
